I like Blindside. They have a new album out called "About A Burning Fire." It is good. It actually brings me back to about 1995 or so. The album is very grunge-esque with heavy guitar riffs and the like. The also try some other stuff that I think is a bit daring, and I like that.
I have a total vision for an all-ages venue, coffeehouse type thing that I have had for about four years now. I am just praying that the Lord will release me to do it soon. It could be very community driven, with local bands allowed to book and put on shows. It could also be a rehearsal space. Venues treat local bands like dirt and it's ridiculous. If you don't bring in alcohol sales they dont want you. Places like the masquerade steal the money that your audience is trying to give you. Local bands should just boycott these places and play at their own places. I guess I support the DIY revolution. Eventually touring bands will want to play at a place like I envision, because that's where the kids will be. I'm getting ahead of myself though.
